Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.

Something resembling hope.

November 8, 2017

Sometimes, even for the seasoned gardener, it's easy to look at the empty beds, composted and mulched for winter, the tools cleaned and put away, and wonder if, this year, you'll have enough energy, enough stamina, enough faith to do it all again.

But then you rest in the long darkness, and turn yourself to quieter things--to softening the spirit, to stilling the mind, to restoring the body--until the light changes, carrying with it that *something* very much resembling hope.
